MEMO4345

Not to forget

MEMO4345 is a multimedia historical-didactic path where visitors, guided to the knowledge and reflection on the implications of the Shoah in Europe, can deepen the history of the 357 Jews (334 foreigners, 23 Italians) deported to Auschwitz from the concentration camp in Borgo San Dalmazzo between September 1943 and February 1944. On February 15, 1944, in Borgo San Dalmazzo, 26 Jews interned in the city camp reached the railway station and were boarded on wagons-goods: thus began their deportation, via Fossoli (fraction of Carpi, in the province of Modena) to the Auschwitz concentration camp.

There were only two survivors.

The exhibition is located inside the former Church of Sant’Anna, next to the Memorial of the Deportation, a few steps from the railway station from which the convoys left for the Nazi extermination camps.
